  15.     Excel Progs is a small yet rapidly growing shareware development
  16.     organization whose members combined have decades of experience
  17.     in the computer industry.  While Excel Progs currently is
  18.     focusing on Windows applications, Excel Progs has also created
  19.     computer-independent .MID (Midi) songs and is always into new
  20.     ideas for computer products on all platforms.

  84. III.    How to Become a Distributor Site
  85.  
  86.     Excel Progs is looking for more bulletin boards and information 
  87.     services to serve as distributor sites.  This works well for both 
  88.     parties:  Excel Progs is able to send its software to a larger 
  89.     audience, and your service has more to advertise about.  Your users 
  90.     know that the latest in Excel Progs utilities, songs, and games 
  91.     can be found first on your service.  
  92.  
  93.     Excel Progs is accepting applications on the basis of "first come, 
  94.     first serve."  There will be one distributor site per county.  A 
  95.     "county" is described in this text as a place which holds a telephone 
  96.     connection to your service for the public (i.e., if you have a service
  97.     in Knox County (Knoxville, TN) which has an Anderson County (Oak Ridge,
  98.     TN) connect line open only to members, your site will be considered to
  99.     be an Knox Co. site ONLY.  If the line becomes public and no site has 
  100.     already appeared in Anderson Co., you will be considered to be a 
  101.     site for both counties.
  102.  
  103.     Excel Progs shall have the sole task of determining whether two or more
  104.     services are considered "too close" to both become distribution sites.
  105.  
  106.     We are asking for services that have been up for at least a year, 
  107.     show promise of being up for much longer, and have potential for 
  108.     growth.  If your service goes down for a small period of time you 
  109.     will retain your site number when you return; in cases of serious
  110.     down-time the site number may be awarded to someone else.  Thus, it 
  111.     is imperative that if your service goes down for a time greater 
  112.     than a month or if it is to go down permanently that you immediately 
  113.     contact Andrew Malek of Excel Progs.
  114.  
  115.     We are looking for "family" services.  Note that this does not mean 
  116.     exclusively religious services, just those that don't cater 
  117.     exclusively to adult users.  This also does not exclude services that 
  118.     responsibly have adult sections hidden to the general public.
  119.  
  120.     We are looking for public domain/shareware/freeware/post-cardware/
  121.     ..etc services ONLY!  If you are a pirate site or hold ANY pirate 
  122.         files, then we appreciate you not applying.
  123.  
  124.         Please note that the question "Are you PD/Shareware ONLY?" may be
  125.         somewhat misleading.  The question is there to verify that only
  126.         bulletin boards with public domain/shareware/freeware software are
  127.         allowed to become distribution sites.  Some bulletin boards allow
  128.         software to be purchased and downloaded online; thus, that software
  129.         is purchased and not free, but is purchased legally and would not
  130.         change an otherwise "YES" answer to "NO."
  131.  
  132.         Excel Progs is currently an organization, not an official business.
  133.         In the event Excel Progs formally is established as a business, your
  134.         distributor site numbers shall be transfered in the proper ways, if
  135.         necessary.
  136.  
  137.     As a distributor site, you need to keep up with the newest Excel
  138.     Progs products.  We ask that you call Idaho Interactive BBS at least
  139.     once every 3-6 months, and, if you wish, in the meantime, acquire
  140.     all Excel Progs products at your convenience from sources such as 
  141.     CompuServe (C) and Internet FTP sites, where they are uploaded
  142.     on a semi-regular basis (Feel free to call Idaho Interactive
  143.     as often as you wish...the 3-6 months is only a suggestion for
  144.     software acquisition).  If you run Major BBS with Majornet, we
  145.     ask that you take the official support forum (mentioned later in
  146.     this file).  We also ask all sites to mention that they are a support
  147.     board in opening screens, bulletins, advertisements,..etc, if
  148.     possible.
  149.         
  150.     Regarding Idaho Interactive BBS, you will receive an account 
  151.     and password regarding your formal confirmation (when you receive 
  152.         postal or e-mail regarding the confirmation).  ALL Excel Progs files 
  153.     shall be on Idaho Interactive BBS in the file area EXCEPROG.  Just 
  154.     type L F S EXCELPROGS to access the files.  Type F S EXCEPROG to
  155.     access the forum area.  You may download individual files or download
  156.     the entire batch as the EPALLx.ZIP files (all such downloads are
  157.         free from time restrictions!)  If for some unknown reason Idaho
  158.         Interactive ceases to exist, Excel Progs will try all possible
  159.         routes of establishing a new home board or new methods of
  160.         distributing its files.

  162.     To apply, simply print and fill out the form located near the end of 
  163.     this text and mail to the address specified.  Or, fill it out
  164.     electronically and send it via Internet electronic mail.  Upon
  165.     approval, you shall receive in the coming weeks your confirmation
  166.     letter, number, and other information Excel Progs feels appropriate.
